FOR SIMPLE SYRUP
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tbsp dried butterfly pea flowers
- 1 sprig fresh mint
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 cup sugar
FOR FRESH LEMONADE
- 1 large lemon juiced (approx. 1/4 cup)
- 1 cup cold water
- lemon slices
- ice
- more mint & rosemary for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- TO MAKE SIMPLE SYRUP Steep the dried butterfly pea flowers, fresh mint, and fresh rosemary in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove the flowers and herbs, then stir in sugar until dissolved. Cool completely before using for lemonade.
- TO MAKE FRESH LEMONADE Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice and cold water.
- TO ASSEMBLE Fill a glass with ice. Pour the herb-infused butterfly pea flower simple syrup into the glass, filling just under halfway. Add lemon slices, then slowly pour fresh lemonade over to mix colors. Garnish and enjoy!
Notes
- You can prepare the simple syrup a day ahead and refrigerate for quick lemonade assembly.
- For best flavor, stir the drink before enjoying to evenly distribute sweetness and color.
