Ingredients
Scale
Cake Mixture
- 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
Coating & Decoration
- 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
- 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
- Green sanding sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare Cake Crumbs: Unwrap all five Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl. Use a handheld mixer to blend the cakes together until a crumbly dough forms. Mix in the festive sprinkles thoroughly to distribute them evenly.
- Form Cake Balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of the crumb mixture. Roll each portion between your palms to form smooth balls and then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Continue until all the mixture is used.
- Melt White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate or candy melts either in the microwave with short 20-30 second bursts, stirring in between, or using a double boiler until smooth.
- Dip Cake Balls: Using a fork or dipping tool, submerge each cake ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on the parchment-lined sheet.
- Melt Red Candy Melts: Melt the red candy melts in a piping bag or ziplock bag by microwaving in 30-second increments, massaging the bag between each to ensure complete melting.
- Decorate Truffles: Snip a small corner off the piping or ziplock bag and drizzle the melted red candy melts over the coated cake balls. Sprinkle green sanding sugar on top for a festive touch.
- Set the Truffles: Place the decorated truffles in the fridge for a few minutes to allow the chocolate coatings to harden. Once set, the truffles are ready to enjoy or gift.
Notes
- For best results, chill the cake balls before dipping to prevent them from falling apart.
- You can substitute the white chocolate with any candy melts or chocolate of your choice.
- Use a small amount of green sanding sugar to add sparkle without overpowering the other decorations.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Red candy melts drizzle is optional but adds a festive color contrast.
