Description

Celebrate the holidays with these festive Christmas Fruit Kabobs and Banana Santa Kabobs. These fun and colorful treats combine fresh fruit with marshmallows and candy decorations to create adorable edible holiday characters perfect for parties or healthy snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Christmas Fruit Kabobs/Grinch Kabobs

  • 12 Strawberries
  • 12 Green grapes
  • 1 Large Banana (or 2 small)
  • 12 Mini white marshmallows
  • 12 Toothpicks

Banana Santa Kabobs

  • 2 Bananas
  • 6 Strawberries
  • 2 Regular Size Marshmallows
  • 6 Mini Marshmallows
  • 12 Candy Eyes
  • 6 Small, round red candies (such as M&Ms)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Fruit for Christmas Fruit Kabobs: Wash and dry all fruit thoroughly. Peel and slice the banana into thin slices. Cut the ends off the strawberries to prepare for assembly.
  2. Assemble Christmas Fruit Kabobs: Take a toothpick and start by threading a green grape onto the end, followed by a banana slice, then a strawberry. Finish by adding a mini marshmallow on top to resemble a festive hat.
  3. Prepare Fruit for Banana Santa Kabobs: Peel the bananas and cut each into thirds. Cut the ends off the strawberries. Slice the regular marshmallows into thirds to use for Santa’s hat.
  4. Assemble Banana Santa Kabobs: Insert a toothpick through the banana piece leaving space to add other ingredients. Next, add a marshmallow piece, then thread a strawberry onto the toothpick. Top finished pieces with a mini marshmallow to form the hat.
  5. Add Decorations: Adhere candy eyes to each Banana Santa using a small dab of marshmallow or edible glue. Place a small round red candy below the eyes to create a mouth, completing Santa’s face.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm fruit for best results and ease of threading.
  • To make candy eyes stick better, slightly moisten the back before applying.
  • These kabobs are best served immediately but can be refrigerated for up to 2 hours before serving.
  • Substitute candies with allergen-friendly options if needed.
  • For a vegan alternative, replace marshmallows with vegan-friendly marshmallows or omit them entirely.
