Scale
Fruits
- 3 bananas
Chocolate Coating
- 3 dark chocolate squares (1 oz total)
- 3/4 tsp coconut oil
Toppings
- 4 tbsp crunchy peanut butter
- 2 tbsp shredded coconut
Instructions
- Prepare Tray: Line a small tray or a plate with baking paper to prevent sticking and make it easy to transfer the frozen snacks.
- Slice Bananas: Peel the bananas, cut each banana in half, then slice each half lengthwise, yielding 4 pieces per banana in total.
- Melt Chocolate: In a small bowl, break the dark chocolate squares and add the coconut oil. Microwave in short bursts, stirring until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- Spread Peanut Butter: Spread approximately 1 teaspoon of crunchy peanut butter evenly over each banana slice.
- Drizzle Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate over each peanut butter-coated banana slice for a rich coating.
- Add Coconut Topping: Sprinkle about ½ teaspoon of shredded coconut on each slice for an added crunchy texture.
- Freeze: Place all coated banana slices on the prepared tray and freeze for 1 to 2 hours until fully frozen.
- Store & Serve: Once frozen, transfer the banana snacks into airtight food containers and keep in the freezer. Allow to defrost for a couple of minutes before serving to enjoy a perfectly chilled, creamy treat.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to prevent mushiness.
- Adjust peanut butter amount based on preference for creaminess or crunch.
- Dark chocolate can be substituted with milk chocolate if preferred.
- Shredded coconut can be toasted beforehand for enhanced flavor.
- Keep the snacks stored in a sealed container to avoid freezer odors.
