Description

This Gluten-Free Christmas Chex Mix is a festive and crunchy snack perfect for holiday gatherings. Packed with a blend of Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, peanuts, and colorful red and green M&Ms, all coated in a luscious white chocolate vanilla almond bark. Easy to make and beautifully decorated with sprinkles and extra candy for a joyful presentation, it’s a sweet and salty treat that captures the spirit of Christmas while being safe for those avoiding gluten.

Ingredients

Scale

Christmas Chex Mix

  • 2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
  • 2 cups Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 ½ cups Cheerios Cereal
  • 2 ½ cups Gluten-Free Pretzels (preferably twists)
  • 1 cup Salted Peanuts (not seasoned)
  • 1 cup Red & Green M&Ms Candy (milk chocolate or peanut butter)
  • 16 oz. Vanilla Almond Bark White Candy Melts or White Chocolate Chips

Optional Decoration

  • 1-2 Tablespoons red and green sprinkles (nonpareils or jimmies)
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Station: Spread out a few sheets of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or your counter to prepare for setting the Chex Mix after coating.
  2. Combine The Christmas Chex Mix Ingredients: Set aside half of the M&Ms for decoration later. In a large bowl, mix together Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Cheerios, gluten-free pretzels, the reserved half of the M&Ms, and salted peanuts.
  3. Melt The White Chocolate Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the vanilla almond bark white candy melts in 20-30 second intervals, stirring well after each interval until smooth and lump-free. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler on the stovetop.
  4. Drizzle & Stir: Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal mixture and quickly stir to evenly coat all ingredients, working swiftly as the coating will begin to harden as it cools.
  5. Spread Out, Sprinkle & Cool: Transfer the coated mixture onto the prepared parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle on the reserved M&Ms and optional red and green sprinkles. Allow the mix to cool completely to set, forming clusters of various sizes for a festive look.
  6. Serve & Store: Once hardened, enjoy immediately or store the Christmas Chex Mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

  • Hold back some M&Ms and add them after spreading the mix on parchment to enhance visual appeal with both coated and visible candies.
  • Add a sprinkle of festive nonpareil or jimmies sprinkles for a cute, colorful touch (optional).
  • For an extra decorative touch, dip some pretzels individually in melted almond bark, sprinkle them, and let dry separately before mixing, creating standout pretzels in the batch.
