Ingredients

Scale

Honey

  • 1 cup

Crushed Red Pepper Honey

  • 2 to 3 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes or 1 fresh jalapeño pepper, sliced

Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons

Instructions

  1. Simmer. Add the honey and crushed red pepper flakes (or jalapeño slices) to a medium sauté pan or saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the honey lightly begins to simmer. Stir to combine and remove from heat.
  2. Rest. Let the mixture sit for 10 to 15 minutes to infuse flavors.
  3. Taste. Adjust heat level by adding more pepper flakes or letting it infuse longer.
  4. Strain. Once desired heat is achieved, strain honey into a jar. Stir in apple cider vinegar.
  5. Serve or store. Use immediately or follow storage instructions below.

Notes

  • Storage instructions: Hot honey can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 months. If using fresh peppers, refrigerate and use within 1 week.
