For the French Dip:
- 3–4 lb beef roast
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 4 cups beef broth
For Serving:
- 6 hoagie rolls
- 12 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Place beef roast, sliced onion, onion soup mix, minced garlic, and beef broth in the Instant Pot. Seal and set to cook for 60 minutes under pressure.
- Shred the Beef: Once cooked, shred the beef.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Serve the shredded beef on toasted hoagie rolls, top with provolone cheese, and melt the cheese under a broiler.
- Serve: Serve the sandwiches with the cooking juice for dipping.
Notes
- To thicken the broth for a sauce, mix ¼ cup cornstarch with ¼ cup water, stir into the broth, and simmer until thickened.
