  • 2 tubs (16 oz each) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ classic and neon gel food colors (orange, purple, yellow, blue, and lime green)
  • 1 package (0.88 oz) Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop candy eyeballs
  • 2 tubes (0.68 oz each) Betty Crocker™ black decorating gel


Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake cupcakes: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions, using the required water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Portion the batter into the prepared muffin cups and bake as directed on the box for cupcakes. Once baked, cool in pans for 10 minutes then transfer cupcakes to cooling racks. Let cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  2. Color the frosting: Divide the vanilla frosting evenly into five small bowls. Add 1 teaspoon of each desired gel food color (orange, purple, yellow, blue, and lime green) into each bowl and stir thoroughly to create vibrant colored frostings.
  3. Decorate cupcakes: Spoon each colored frosting into separate decorating bags fitted with your preferred decorating tips. Pipe the colored frosting onto the cooled cupcakes to mimic monster fur, creating texture and wild designs.
