Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Dough Base
- 2 cups store-bought or homemade edible cookie dough
Snowman Hats
- 9 mini Oreos (frosting scraped off)
- 18 Rolo chocolate candies
- 18 snowflake sprinkles (optional)
White Chocolate Ganache
- 2 cups (240 g) white chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp coconut oil
Decorations
- Black pearl sprinkles (for eyes and mouth)
- Orange pearl sprinkles (for nose)
Instructions
- Portion and Freeze Dough: Portion the edible cookie dough into 1-Tbsp scoops and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze the dough until very firm, about 10 to 15 minutes, to make them easier to handle for dipping.
- Prepare Oreo Hats: Separate the mini Oreos carefully and scrape off the frosting, enjoying it as a snack. These Oreo halves will be used as the flat base of the snowman hats.
- Melt White Chocolate Ganache: In a medium heatproof bowl, microwave the white chocolate chips along with the coconut oil in 15-second increments. Stir between each session until the mixture is fully melted, smooth, and glossy, which should take about 45 seconds to 1 minute.
- Create Ganache Bases: Spoon 18 round dollops (approximately 1-inch diameter) of the ganache onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. These will serve as the base for each cookie dough bite. There will be some ganache left over for dipping and decorating.
- Assemble Snowman Hats: Dip the smaller end of each Rolo candy into the remaining ganache, then press it flat against one side of an Oreo half to form a hat shape. If using, dip snowflake sprinkles into ganache and attach them where the Oreo meets the Rolo to add decorative detail.
- Dip and Decorate Dough Balls: Roll each frozen cookie dough portion into a smooth ball. Using a fork, dip one dough ball into the ganache to coat it evenly, then gently press it onto a ganache round on the baking sheet. Before the chocolate sets, decorate each snowman face by attaching two black sugar pearls as eyes, and forming a semicircle of 3 to 4 black pearls as the mouth. Place one orange sugar pearl in the center for the nose, then set the assembled hat on top of the snowman’s head. Repeat this process for all remaining dough balls.
- Allow to Set: Let the chocolate ganache fully set at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes before serving to ensure the decorations are secure and the coating is firm.
Notes
- Use edible cookie dough that is safe to eat raw and does not contain raw eggs.
- If you prefer, homemade cookie dough can be used instead of store-bought.
- Removing Oreo frosting is optional but helps the hat stick better and avoids excess sweetness.
- Ganache must be smooth and warm for easy dipping but not too hot to melt the cookie dough shapes.
- Decorate with snowflake sprinkles only if you want a winter-themed look – they can be omitted without affecting flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
